You are bidding on a World War II official U.S. Marine Corps photo titled "Flushing Snipers" by Corporal C. G. Jolly dated 6/29/1944. The photo measures approximately 8" tall and 10" wide. The following is stamped in purple ink on the back: "FLUSHING SNIPERS---During the advance from the beach to the interior of Saipan in the Marianas, Marines cautiously approach this farmyard. Jap snipers, hidden in the buildings and the surrounding area, had to be cleaned out. Hdqrs. No. 82,861. DIST LIST 2-4 6-2944 WATCH YOUR CREDIT LINE OFFICIAL U.S. MARINE CORPS PHOTO by Corporal C.G. Jolly." There is also a sticker adhered to the back with the same typed description of the photo. The photo does not lie flat but is in good condition. The corners show minor wear, discoloration and some light creases. The purple ink stamp is very light and difficult to read. Please see our photos for more information regarding condition.
