    Description

2 original 35mm slides of views of abandoned and
    dismantled
Gardner Army Air Corps Base near Taft and Maricopa in Kern County California; These photos were taken in 1965 and
    show
the Army Air Corps insignia (not sure if it was in front of Hq. or on the parade grounds) and of remaining foundation blocks where buildings (offices and barracks) stood.   Gardner AB details can be researched easily on Wikipedia.
You can read the processing date on the cardboard frames; you can see that the cardboard frames are in good condition and the date is stamped on them.  Our photos for eBay are digitized on a home, amateur piece of equipment and they do not represent what a commercial company can achieve from these 35mm slides - either prints or better quality digitized files.  The resolution of our eBay listing photos is not the best possible and there may be some
    graininess
or color that is not true as well.  The slides have been kept protected in a Smith-Victor steel box for over half a century and are still sharp and color-true when viewed with a 35mm projector, or printed or digitized by a commercial company.
Sturdy shipping via USPS first class mail is .00.  eBay applies and collects sales tax as applicable for your location.  We gladly combine winnings to save you on shipping costs and we may have other ghost town photos listed.
