air of antique lacquer and gilt Chinese Elmwood Cabinets.
    Dimensions 27 1/4” high x 22” wide x 17” deep.
Each cabinet holds two doors and two draws. These
cabinets are in excellent condition with some small minor lacquer chipping representative of age.
They each have a black lacquer base and red lacquer trim on the door and draw fronts. Each cabinet side, front and top displays
original gilt decoration of classical landscapes and figures.
The insides are red lacquer. The draw pulls and door clasps are all original and bronze. The doors remove and have wooden pin type hinges.
Made with hand made mortise and tenon construction, t
he draws are dovetailed. Each cabinet holds one removable shelf
. It is a showcase example of lacquered Ming period Chinese furniture distinguished by the beauty of the lacquer and gilt, and the simplicity of form with extremely well constructed joinery.
