Description
This is an original (one-of-a-kind) small gelatin silver photo [4-3/8" x 2-5/8"] that was found in a USS Isabel crewman's photo album ~
the USS Isabel was part of the US Asiatic Fleet during WWII, and the fleet's summer base was Chefoo
~ this photo was taken in 1939 and shows in the foreground the (Chefoo) cemetery grave marker/monument for US Navy Lieutenant Clarence England who was accidentally killed by friendly (French) fire in 1906 whilst on the deck of the USS Chattanooga in Chefoo Harbor ~ a number of sailors from the USS Isabel display a floral wreath at the grave marker, probably for some type of memorial service to acknowledge the fallen serviceman
