    Description

    481st ENGrs 1945.
ONE Vintage WWII  photo from album of a US Army GI Johnny (Jack) Smothers.
He was with the IX Army,  481st Engrs. Light Pontoon Co.
(There are many John Smothers on Fold3 com so more research needed.  I have not found his hometown. )
Photos start out at Fort Gordon, Georgia in 1944, then Fort Benning, before heading overseas to ETO.
When I could I left on album paper. Many have writing on back also.
